Payroll Specialist

Acculign is seeking a reliable payroll specialist to join our growing company. We are a quickly growing manufacturing and construction company. We invented, design, and manufacture a revolutionary product that practically sells itself, so our business is quadrupling this year. It's made for some fun challenges to solve! In this role you will oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The successful Payroll Specialist candidate will have at least 2 years of payroll experience with ADP and Concur, and will ensure accurate, efficient, and timely processing, recording, reporting, and at times certifying of the company’s payroll. If you have bookkeeping skills beyond payroll administration, that would be a huge plus, but is not at all required. We currently have roughly 20 employees divided between two entities, three divisions, and a handful of states, some Union, some non, some both. Job Description

  • Gather information on hours worked for each employee

  • Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. Receive approval from upper management for unusual payments when needed

  • Prepare and execute pay orders through an electronic system or distribute paychecks

  • Administer statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paper

  • Process taxes and payment of employee benefits

  • Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors

  • Prepare reports for upper management, finance director, etc

  • Monthly Union Reporting

  • Bookkeeping and AR/AP experience is preferred but not required


  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field

  • 2+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll

  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations

  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel

  • Solid understanding of union tracking and reporting

  • 2+ years of experience using ADP and Concur
